The following are instructions for installing vtiger CRM on your installing the open source vTiger CRM community version on your HostMonster web hosting account. (note: the installation for vtiger CRM is a much more simple install than the competitive product Sugar CRM)
- Download the full installation file package from vtiger.com
- Unzip or Unpackage the the tar or zip file
- Upload the contents of your vtiger CRM folder to your directory of choice via FTP
- Login to your HostMonster Cpanel and click on the MySQL Databases button on the mainpage of your cpanel.
- Create a new database
- Now create a new user
- Now attach the user and the database you just created together
- Run the vtiger CRM Install script by pointing your browser to the base URL of your website (e.g., http://www.example.com)
- HostMonster already is preconfigured to meet all of the configurations that vtiger CRM requires, so continue through the setup wizard
- Click the install button and let the system configure the database
That's it! Vtiger CRM should now be working perfectly for you on your HostMonster server. Because of the pre-configurations that Hostmonster already has this install is extremely easy.
