The following are step by step instructions for installing the OScommerce shopping cart system on your Hostmonster webhosting account. Follow instructions to prevent errors or system failures.
- Upload the catalog folder which includes the admin folder to your document root
- Create your new database using the MySQL database manager in your Cpanel
- Create a new MySQL user
- Attach your new MySQL user to your new MySQL database
- Open your web browser and go to http://yourserver/catalog/install/ and click on the Install button.
- Enter the database server information (enter "localhost" for the first field that is asked to you)
- Follow the rest of the steps give to you by the setup wizard
- Now your setup should be complete, delete the /install folder from your directory
- Click on the "File Manager" image on your Cpanel mainpage
- Change the permissions on /includes/configure.php from 644 to 444
All done! You now should have a fully working and functional OScommerce shopping cart system running on your Hostmonster Professional web server!
