The following are instructions step by step for installing the Joomla Content Management System on your Hostmonster webserver account.

1. Upload contents of your Joomla download to a directory via FTP
2. Create a new folder in your Joomla docroot called "Media"
3. Create your new database using the MySQL database manager in your Cpanel
4. Create a new MySQL user
5. Attach your new MySQL user to your new MySQL database
6. Run the Joomla Install script by pointing your browser to the base URL of your website (e.g., www.example.com)
7. Enter in the correct database information
8. Once script is complete, delete the Installation directory (this step is very important with Joomla, if you don't you run the risk of reinstalling Joomla over our existing installation)

This script takes a little longer than other content management systems such as Wordpress or Drupal because of the size of the file contents. But the process is very similar. Now you should have a working Joomla content management system running on your Hostmonster webserver account.
